Kwanda

For employee and community networks

Give through your network.

A tribe is your network's own corner of Kwanda: one place to see what members contribute together, vote on projects and follow the results. Members join individually from £5 a month.

Questions about tribes

Who can start a tribe?

Employee networks, alumni groups, professional associations and community groups can all enquire. We will talk through the fit before anything is set up.

What does the organiser need to do?

Give us the network name, logo and a short description, then share the joining link with your members. Kwanda creates the tribe page and handles accounts and payments, so there is no payroll setup or payment administration for the organiser.

Is there a setup fee or minimum size?

There is no setup fee for your network, no minimum tribe size and no minimum duration. Each member chooses their own monthly contribution, starting from £5.

How do members join and contribute?

You share a unique joining link. Each person creates their own Kwanda account, chooses their own monthly contribution from £5 and gets their own vote on project proposals.

What information appears publicly?

The public tribe page can show the network name, logo and description, member count, combined monthly and lifetime contribution totals, and projects linked to the tribe.

Are members’ names or contribution amounts public?

No. A public tribe page may show member initials, but never full names, email addresses or individual contribution amounts. Only the group totals are shown.

How do voting and project links work?

Every monthly contribution joins Kwanda’s shared pool and every member votes with the wider Kwanda community. Tribes cannot reserve contributions for a project. Kwanda may agree separately to link an already funded project to a tribe page, but this is not automatic.

Can members change or cancel their contribution?

Yes. Members can change or cancel their monthly contribution from their own account. The tribe’s current monthly total updates as membership and contributions change.

Are contributions tax-deductible?

A monthly Kwanda pledge creates a villager account and is processed by Kwanda Ltd through its UK Stripe account. Kwanda Ltd is a non-profit company limited by guarantee, not a registered charity, so these pledges are not tax-deductible or eligible for Gift Aid. Separately, contributions made through Every.org, including recurring contributions, are tax-deductible in the US because Kwanda Inc is a 501(c)(3). Members should check their own tax position.

What happens after we submit an enquiry?

We aim to reply within two working days and arrange a 30-minute conversation. If a tribe is a good fit, we will collect the network details, create the page and give you a joining link to share.
